Loving and personalized pet care. When you use the services of Shannon's Ark, you can rest assured that I am the only person taking care of your pets. I have a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and worked as a veterinary nurse for 6 years. I am experienced in giving insulin injections and subcutaneous fluids.

"Shannon has been tending to my pets for over four years. Initially, she was pet sitting and dog walking for my two feisty terriers on an as-needed basis. She has always been punctual and professional in her treatment of my 'furry children'. Most recently, she has been assisting me with one of my cats, who has chronic kidney failure, and requires an infusion of fluids a few times each week. She has been an enormous help to me because this particular cat would amazingly develop at least six additional legs when I tried to infuse him by myself. However, with assistance from Shannon, my kitty has figured out that he does not need extra legs to fight being infused. With Shannon helping me, my cat is calm and tolerates his fluid infusion peacefully and quietly. Shannon works her 'cat whisperer' magic on him and he sits unruffled for the few minutes it takes for him to receive his fluids. When you think of all of the qualities you would want in a pet sitter, a dog walker, a helper who is a veterinary trained professional, you would find that you are describing Shannon. "Shannon does a better job of watching my dog than my family members do. She is responsible, reliable, knowledgeable about animal behavior, and knows how to handle emergencies. Although Shannon met my dog prior to me going away the first time, he was frightened when she arrived. She knew what to do to make him comfortable, and within a short time he came and greeted her. While I was on a recent vacation, she called to say that my dog had become lame. She had already checked his leg and made a vet appointment, but she wanted to make sure it was okay to take him to the vet. After she received my permission, she took him to the vet and reported back to me what transpired at the visit. Upon my return, I found the usual summary about my dog’s behavior while I was away, as well as a progress note about his leg and a written explanation of the possible diagnoses according to my vet.
