Pet Sitters International announces top finalists for its 2018 Pet Sitter of the Year™ Award
Five professional pet sitters vie for the pet-sitting industry’s highest honor.
KING, N.C. (November 21, 2017)—Pet Sitters International (PSI) has selected its top-five finalists for the 2018 Pet Sitter of the Year™ Award. First awarded by PSI in 1995, the Pet Sitter of the Year designation is the industry’s highest honor and recognizes true excellence in the professional pet-sitting field.
PSI congratulates the following top-five finalists who will move forward to the next round of judging for the 2018 award:
- Alice Chau-Ginguene, Maow Care, Dublin, Ireland
- Anthony Garza, Paws On Durham Pet Sitting, Durham, N.C.
- Liz Hyde, Pet Charmers LLC, Gastonia, N.C.
- Cathy Vaughan, Cathy’s Critter Care, Schertz, Texas
- Gail Wunderlin-Beigh, Princess Gentle Paws Pet Sitting and Care, LLC, Liberty Township, Ohio
PSI, the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, evaluates nominees on stringent criteria including client and professional references, commitment to quality care and professionalism, contributions to clients and the industry-at-large, and commitment to continuing education. PSI’s Pet Sitter of the Year serves as an example to the industry and pet-owning public and embodies the qualities of passion and professionalism.
“This award recognizes the best of the best in professional pet sitting,” said Patti Moran, PSI president. “These finalists are shining examples of the professionalism, pet-care knowledge, business savvy and strong work ethic required to succeed in this industry.”
The five finalists move on to the next phase of the judging process, where a panel of three independent judges will review and score the finalists’ submissions and supporting materials, including their references and finalist videos. The new Pet Sitter of the Year will be announced in January 2018.
The winner, along with the other four finalists, will also be recognized during PSI’s 2018 Pet Sitter World Educational Conference & Expo in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in September 2018.
