Pet Adoption Facts

PSI created Take Your Dog To Work Day® to celebrate the great companions dogs make and encourage their adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups and humane societies. Through this day, employees without pets are able to witness the human-animal bond firsthand and hopefully be encouraged to adopt a new best friend of their own. Our Take Your Cat To Work Day® and Take Your Pet To Work Week® events also have the same purpose of promoting pet adoption.

When you celebrate this year, help us spread the word that millions of animals need fur-ever homes. Check out animal shelter data and facts from the following organizations:

Your local animal shelter and pet-rescue groups will be great resources for information on local adoption statistics—and these organizations can provide you with information on adoptable pets in your area!
