Services offered:

Drop-in visits to the client's home. The average drop-in is usually 30 minutes. Extended drop-ins are available for homes with multiple pets, extra playtime, or lots of plants etc...

Services include the care and attention of the pet. Also, cleaning up after pets. I collect mail and bring packages inside, water plants, take out the trash, take trash/recycle containers to the curb or put them away.

Company goals:

1. Client satisfaction with care of pets and home

2. Quality care of pets and I have a limited number of clients.

3. Ensure that client pets feel comfortable and happy in their home environment.

I do follow the pet parent's directions of care of pets and the household.

About the owner:

Konni Ellen

The majority of my experience with cats started in 2005 with cat rescue (no longer rescuing cats). I fostered and found homes for over 1000 cats in Kern County 2005-2018. Ten years ago I started cat sitting frequently for friends and family while I was getting my degree at Bakersfield College (graduated in 2020). After I graduated from college I decided to do what I was truly passionate about and started pet sitting professionally. I enjoy working with clients, and their furry kids.

2021 I became a professional pet sitter with insurance, bonding, joined Pet Sitters International, got my business license, and background check is available to clients annually.

2022 I Became pet First-Aid certified, and Professional Pet Sitter Certified.

I have been local to Bakersfield since I was a teenager in 1986, managed Arby’s at the age of 19, District Trainer/Manager for Payless ShoeSource in the 90’s, and then Managed Pacific Theatres until I was laid off in 2005. I wanted a new career path so I took classes, and did volunteer work until I discovered that professional pet sitting was the path for me. Running large businesses was a lot of responsibility, but being responsible for someone’s home, and pets while they are on vacation is also an enormous responsibility.

After moving to the Brimhall and Allen area, with my husband, I discovered many professional people looking for professional cat sitting, and dog sitting in the area. CatDoggy is the original name of the business. I love dogs, but 95% of my clients are cats only. Dogs also require 14-16 hour work days (no longer accepting new dog clients). Cat sitting can be done within a 12 hour work day.

Now, my day is spent loving and caring for precious pets + client homes, using Pet Sitters International’s education programs, and occasionally attending pet sitter conferences. I do network with other local professional, insured, pet sitters.

Types of pets that I care for:

Cats, small animals including chickens, dogs may be considered if they are small and have a dog door or potty-pad trained, and are ok with a drop-in structure.
