About My Business

Hi, my name is Tracy and I am the proud owner of Happy Tails. I am originally from Nantucket, Massachusetts and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley 28 years ago. I grew up in an animal loving household with dogs, cats, chickens, and even a lamb. I spent a lot of time on my grandparents dairy farm. Some of the best memories of my childhood were from the farm caring for the animals and being out in nature. When I moved out west after attending college at Florida State University I wanted to try to combine my passion for being in the outdoors and hiking with my dogs and try to make a living at the same time. I started offering group dog hikes to my neighbors and it caught on. Neighbors were calling everyday to see what adventure awaited their pets. Happy Tails was established in 2000. We have 20 years of experience caring for all pets. We provide top rated care for your fur babies. Keeping your pets happy at home is our motto. We will provide love and care when you're not there. Whether you have a set schedule, going out of town, or just need an occasional visit we provide flexibility catered to your needs. We focus on positive reinforcement and provide single or group walks, park play, group hikes, and overnights. We pride ourselves in the safety of the animals in our care.

When you can’t take them with you call us. We are bonded and insured. We offer 30-45 minute walks, or for the more athletic or social pets we have 90 minute hikes on our beautiful local trails. We usually take groups of 2-6 dogs so they can have a pack experience. This is guaranteed to be a great physical workout, and usually involves a cool off in a creek.
