About My Business

Rhonda Brown founded Custom Animal Services Pet Sitting in 2002. She worked for both La Plata Animal Clinic and Riverview Animal Hospital for a combined total of nine years. Rhonda received her Bachelors of Science in Animal Science (large animals) from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1994.

Immediately after graduation Rhonda relocated to Durango.

Rhonda started Custom Animal Services Pet Sitting to give pet owners in the Durango area a high quality option for pet care and companionship while they are away.

In 2024 Rhonda relocated to Utah to start new adventures and sold the business to her long time employee, Suzie Payne. Suzie was a veterinary technician for nearly 25 years in small animal, emergency medicine, and research. Suzie strives to continue the high standards that Rhonda maintained.

In addition to overnight stays, we offer stop in visits, pet exercise and pet companionship services. We can also help exercise and socialize puppies. Our highly experienced staff includes horse experts and horse trainers along with dog trainers. Combined we have hundreds of years combined experience caring for animals. We work with local veterinarians to make sure medications or special needs are met. We tailor our services to you and your pets needs. We love all animals, and it shows.
