About My Business

Hello, I have been an avid pet lover since birth, having always felt most comfortable when I am with my cherished friends. I do not remember a time in my life when I did not have a furry friend by my side. Since the very first time I rode a pony I knew I want my life, and my career to be surrounded by animals.

I started my pet sitting business back in 1999 in Murrieta, California, while working on a horse ranch. I was the farm manager on several ranches in California and North Carolina through my 20's and 30's caring for animals ranging from dogs and cats, to horses, chickens and tortoises.

Early on I was mentored by a professional dog trainer and with her help and lots of hard work I was able to help shelter dogs that were scared and didn't know how to trust humans. I helped foster dogs learn how to be brave and do dog things like tug-o-war , use the doggie door and how to play. This eventually led me to my current pup ( and best friend) Osborne.

In 2018 I was fortunate enough to get to go to Thailand where I volunteered with on of the most magnificent animals on our planet, the Indian elephant. While in Thailand I discovered there were close to one million dogs categorized as stray and abandoned. I was able to utilize my training worked with frightened dogs called soi dogs (street dogs) helping with rehabilitation.

In my spare time Osborne and I enjoy paddle boarding, walking and hiking around the hills of Orange County and cycling ( Oz has his own dog cart.)

I look forward to growing my business here in California. Currently, I only offer pet sitting in your home. I am licensed, bonded and insured so you can go on business trips or vacations knowing your pet is getting the best care possible.. I provide frequent updates, pictures and videos.

In-home pet sitting starts at $80/night. Rates will vary depending on location and pet requirements. I offer short-term and long-term sitting services, as well as dog and kitty visits. Overnight sitting, daily dog walking, pet transporting, and additional services are provided as requested. I am happy to to build a schedule that works for you and your pet.

What my clients say:

"Shelli’s kindness and compassion is unmatched. She is dependable, very knowledgeable and experienced. She cared for our dogs for over two years and during that time she has come through on multiple occasions including walking,
feeding, dog sitting, providing overnight care, etc… we are so grateful to have her in our lives. "

—Ailin El-Farra

"I have been lucky to have Shelli sit with my little guy, Jiggs, on multiple occasions. Shelli is professional & responsible. However what I value most is her calm, consistent manner with my rescued, anxious pup. He thrives under her care! I am confident that when I return he’ll be happy & the house in good order. Even neighbors have gone out of their way to rate her stays positively. I wholeheartedly recommend Shelli without reservations!"

—Joanne Lopez

"Shelli took care of our rescue cat and she was just fantastic! Not only did she shower our nervous cat with love and attention, but she sent updates and pictures daily so that we could see just how happy she was. Shelli is conscientious, responsible, thoughtful and loving; she looked after the cat and the house with such detail and care. The peace of mind that she offered while we were out of town allowed us to enjoy ourselves, while knowing that our house and cat were so well taken care of and loved. That kind of peace of mind is priceless! We will definitely be using her services again!"
