About My Business

A Friend in the Woods is a company started by a married couple who are originally from New Jersey and who have lived in Jacksonville for the last 16+ years.

We started the company in part, to offer others a service which we did not have available to us in our previous experiences when living in a city without family or trusted friends who could care for our beloved pets as would want.

We specialize in daily dog walking, vacation pet care including overnight stays, business travel accommodations and special occasion care for those days or nights when you don't want to (or can't) alter your plans to rush home and let the dog outside to go potty or give them their required medicine.

We offer professional pet care services with a personal touch and are extremely responsive to our clients' needs when it comes to their treasured family pets.

We are a small company with limited staff, which means that you can develop a relationship with your sitter as opposed to having multiple sitters during a trip or a different sitter caring for your pets each time you require service. This relationship allows your sitter to gain in depth knowledge of your pet's likes, dislikes, behaviors, quirks and even any health challenges over time and also helps them to recognize any changes in behavior which may occur while they are in our care. This familiarity can help them be proactive in providing the best care possible for your pets in both normal circumstances as well as during any emergency that may arise.

- Ponte Vedra as far south as Solano Rd.

- Intracoastal West:

-as far west as Kernan Blvd.

-as far north as McCormick
