About My Business

We understand that many dogs are reactive to or fearful of other dogs or people, particularly when on leash. We work with you and your dog(s) so that you can take advantage of overnight, daycare and walking options that you would not otherwise be able to do. One of our most used services is Getting To Know You visits so that your dog can get to know a sitter over a period of 3 - 12 visits before an actual stay takes place. At our very first meeting, we collect information on your dog’s likes and dislikes, and in particular, about his or her fears.

We do not use punishment or aversive equipment at any time. If we are walking your dog, our goal is to prevent any reactions to scary things (other dogs and people). We make sure there is enough distance to prevent a reaction and then connect the sight of scary things with lots of treats for calm behavior.

Outdoors or indoors, we want to make sure to reduce any of the variety of stressors that impact reactive dogs. Outdoors includes developing calm behavior, never interacting with another dog or person while on leash Indoors, and indoors includes careful, gentle handling, only when necessary, treat stuffed toys, games and training to provide enrichment.
