About My Business

Hi, I'm Cara and I started Pinky's CatWatch in 2004 (pet sitting since 2000). Pinky's CatWatch is named after my cool cat Pinky, who lived a happy and carefree life for 17 1/2 years. I started pet sitting after 14 years as a licensed clinical social worker. I turned a part-time job into a profession I'm proud to be a part of. Animals are our companions in happiness and sadness and offer comfort and joy. As a client of Pinky's CatWatch, your worries will be put to rest when you are away from your furry, feathered and finned pets. Personalized care will be provided to meet your and your pet(s)' needs.

During my lifetime, I've had five cats, and one of each of the following: dog, rabbit, gerbil, hamster, bird, turtle, chameleon and many fish. Presently, I am a pet parent to two cats, Robbi (17) and Snoopy (14).

I specialize in cat sitting, visiting once/twice daily in your home. My expertise in cat care as well as in general pet care, includes: first aid, nutrition, health, and behavioral issues. I also sit for pocket pets, rabbits, birds and fish--experienced and familiar with their needs, as well.

The benefits of pet sitting in your home are numerous. Traveling with or boarding a cat is stressful for all involved. The sights, sounds, smells of home are comforting. Cats can maintain their daily routine--feeding schedule, sleeping patterns/location, and bird watch at their favorite spot, for example. With pet sitting services from PCW, your pets' health, safety and well-being are my paramount concerns.

I am insured and bonded and can provide references from my many satisfied clients. In addition, I am a Certified Professional Pet Sitter through Pet Sitters International. The certification process is an extensive and intensive educational curriculum encompassing pet care for companion animals, horses, ferrets, pocket pets, rabbits, pet birds, and reptiles/amphibians. In order to maintain my certification, continuing education is required and meeting professional and ethical standards in accordance with PSI standards. I have assisted clients with pet loss and grief counseling utilizing my social work skills. I'm also experienced in administering medication, insulin injections, and subcutaneous fluids.

As the sole owner and employee of Pinky's CatWatch, all services will be personally delivered by me. You do not have to be concerned who is caring for your pet and entering your home.

A Service Agreement and a Permission for Medical Treatment form will be completed. PCW Policies & Procedures will be discussed and a Reference list will be provided.

Your pet(s) will receive the "cats' meow" of care when you choose Pinky's CatWatch.
