About My Business

FOREVER HOME PET CARE OKI's “SIT & TRAIN” or "WALK & TRAIN" POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT TRAINING services begin with a COMPLIMENTARY, NO OBLIGATION consultation.

I chose to become a dog trainer after learning that the main reason dogs are surrendered to shelters or worse, euthanized, is because of behavioral problems.

MY OBJECTIVE is to help all pet parents overcome behavior challenges, so your pet will stay FOREVER HOME!

Don’t give up on your dog because of bad behavior! Training can help your dog get back to being your BFF!

WHY SIT & TRAIN or WALK & TRAIN?

TRAINING IMPROVES COMMUNICATION! Just like us, COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN is the number one reason for problems in most relationships!

To train your dog effectively, you need to remember, your dog does not speak English! And, to complicate things further, you dog’s primary means of communication is NON-VERBAL!

Imagine yourself in a place where no one understood what you were saying and you did not understand them. Minimally, that would be frustrating, worse, it could be frightening!

Key to successfully bridging this communication gap, is to learn to understand your dog’s body language. Training using POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT, allows you to COMMUNICATE CLEARLY to your dog EXACTLY WHAT YOU EXPECT!

Training makes your dog’s world more predictable. By setting your dog up to succeed and, rewarding your dog for this success, the likelihood your dog will repeat these behaviors increases because your dog starts to understand the formula for success. Your dog will be more confident and calmer, because their world is more predictable. This predictability enhances your TRUST BOND with your dog.

Training provides both mental and physical stimulation for your dog. Just like you and I, exercise burns up negative/excess energy, and helps us be more relaxed. Unwanted behaviors like chewing, digging, jumping, barking, pulling, will happen less and less, because you have essentially cut off the energy supply that fuels these behaviors!

Done right, TRAINING SHOULD BE FUN! You are much more likely to practice your training if it is REWARDING for both you and your dog!

POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT TRAINING REDIRECTS your dog’s energy into behaviors, and eventually habits, that are predictable, consistent and above all, DESIRABLE!

Training done compassionately with consistent repetitions and reinforcement, BUILDS CONFIDENCE in both you and your dog, ensuring that you have the tools and knowledge to continue strengthening your dog’s new skills into long term habits!

RESULTS: A positive reinforcement loop!
