About My Business

HOLY FELINES! I’m supposed to put together minimum 1400 words to share with you, interested party, to clue you in about my cat sitting service. I don’t want to senselessly muddle together some words, I want you to leave with an idea of how well your cats can be tended in your absence. Meet me, Lynda Sangster, and welcome to Kare 4 Kats, where your kitties are treated like my own!

Emphasis: I ONLY do CATS! Not dogs. Not reptiles. Not birds. Just cats. And only at your premises.

Repeat: I do not offer canine services of any kind. And I do not board pets. SERVICE IS LIMITED TO CATS ONLY. (You’d be surprised that I get canine requests, so, I do cats, and only cats. Meow!)

With 30+ years of cat care experience, I will lovingly care for your precious feline(s), in your home, while you are away. My services are wholly customized to your routine and need.

Loving your kitty(s) is my joy! Regardless of your reason for needing substitute care for your beloved feline, I am here to help. I offer in home pet care…. That is in YOUR home. Your cats are able to relax in the familiarity of their own home while maintaining their normal routine. They can eat their own food, play with their own toys, and sleep in your bed…. make that THEIR bed!

I look forward to becoming your cat’s friend! It really is hard for cats to cope with change and upsets to their routine, and that’s what “I get”. My own cats have shown me over the years, that “cats are not like dogs”, and there’s no figuring out a cat, but once cats are in a set routine, the best route is for least disruption, and that means, in-home care.

I don’t care what your home looks like. I don’t care if you’re a bachelor and have “your own routine”, if your routine and life includes kitties, and you need to be away, I’m your resource! If you’re in the most glam set-up with prissy kitties, I’m still your resource. I “get” cats! Even if you’re the pickiest biped with a fastidious routine, you can still count on my replicating what your fur family is accustomed to.

Your privacy will always be highly respected. While in your home, I will always remain in areas that are required to care for your pet or home as specified. Areas that do not contain pet supplies or cleaning supplies are not of my concern and will always be treated accordingly unless I feel that it is important to the safety of your property, me, or your pet.

On daily visits, your home will always be as you left it, unless directed otherwise. I will at times use my own judgment in some situations if I have some reason to believe something is not as it should be and I are not able to contact you to discuss it. For example if your door is unlocked when I arrive, I would assume it should be locked.

I will always clean up after your pets to the best of my ability. I’ve had to clean up some awesome cat messes in my day! I do it because I love kitties. I would never leave a mess behind after my visit. Any and all messes will be cleaned up before I leave your home.

I try to leave every house as found on my first visit. I will sweep excessive hair, food, bedding, and clean up any accidents as best I can. I clean litter boxes as needed and always before your return. I wash my hands and sanitize clothing and footwear each time to minimize pet disease exposure. Cats will be visited on as close to the same time each day depending on schedule. I can only guarantee a reasonable amount of time between visits for your pet based on how many visits per day you request. Generally pets needing medication or special needs get highest priority.

You can count on me to be punctual. I am a feline lover who cares about kitties! I adjust services, depending on your pet's needs! Affordable rates! I look forward to hearing from you! Best! Also included: lots of TLC and smooches!

HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

INITIAL CONSULTATION: FREE!!

This allows us to meet and permits me to evaluate your individual needs. My priority is to provide top-notch care and affection to your pets, meeting the needs of you and your pet, and making your absence less stressful to them. This visit will give your cats the opportunity to become comfortable with their caregiver. (May I say here: “hahahahaha, not on your life!” Most cats HIDE, and the only way you know of their presence and that they’re OK is that you still have litter to sift through, and the food and water disappears! Most cats are extremely shy with strangers, I have found.)

EACH VISIT

There is a charge for each visit. Each visit usually lasts about 30 minutes. The visit charge is applicable for up to 3 cats, more than 3 cats requires a modest upcharge – lotsa litter to scoop! Each visit includes loving on them if they permit, playtime, brushing if they permit, and laying out treats, such as catnip wallows (ask me about that!). Fresh water and food is put out with every visit, per your specifications, and medication if needed. I scoop/replace litter daily, and clean up the tracked mess, and pick up after them if they have scattered toys about.

TRAVEL FEE

The cost to travel to and from your home for each visit and initial consultation is included in the per visit fee. If an extra trip is required to pick up or return keys, there’s an additional charge.

FINDER’S FEE

Get $5.00 credit on your next booking for every referral that books service with me!

PET TRANSPORT FEE

$20.00 (for example, roundtrip transportation to location, vet, groomer etc.; if more than 20 miles, there will be an additional $5.00 charge).

HOME SERVICES (Any, all or none! AND are included in regular visit price!)

• Bring in mail & newspapers.

• Alternate lights & blinds.

• Water plants.

• Take out trash on trash day.

LOOKING AHEAD

Your plans include spending the holidays with your family, or there’s an upcoming business trip and you need me to take care of your cat(s). I am an advanced reservation service with a limited number of bookings. In order to maintain the highest quality for all contracted visits, I do not overbook, regardless of season or demand. I am not an on-call (except by special prior arrangement) or emergency service, though when possible I will try to handle emergency situations.

Short notice(less than one week) will be accepted if space is available, however two weeks’ notice or more is strongly recommended, and one month may be required for the holidays. Please feel free to inquire about last-minute services but availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. The more notice you give me, the better the chances that I will be able to book your dates, so please notify me as soon as you know when you will need my services.

For the safety of your pets, and phones and computers can crash, reservations by voicemail or email are not considered final or guaranteed until confirmed. Always confirm your reservation with me directly as I cannot accept voicemail or email as a reservation. If you need to extend your trip, I will only accept extensions by direct confirmation also. This ensures that I won’t miss your request and your pet(s) won’t be left alone.

CANCELLATIONS

A 48-hour notice is required for all cancellations except for holidays for which one week is required. Otherwise one scheduled visit fee will be charged as a last minute cancellation fee.

PAYMENTS

Payments can be made in cash, debit or credit cards, personal check or Zelle. All first-time clients will be expected to pay in full at the first-time consultation. All previous clients will be expected to pay on the first day of service. This can be left for me inside the home. Any exceptions must be arranged for in advance of pet sitting services. All unplanned services must be paid within 14 days of your return trip.
