Promote Pet-Sitter Education Month™ and Your Business on Social
Thank you for being a PSI member—and for your interest in PSI’s Pet-Sitter Education Month™ (PSEM), observed each September. PSI established this month-long observance in 2016 to shine a spotlight on professional pet sitters’ commitment to continuing education and on the growing number of educational resources available to today’s professional pet sitters and dog walkers.
Social media provides one of the best ways to promote Pet-Sitter Education Month and your business, and we’ve created this toolkit to give you easy-to-implement ideas and resources.
Be sure to tag PSI (@petsittersinternational) and use hashtags #psimember and #petsittereducationmonth when you post on Facebook and Instagram this month about PSEM and your educational efforts. We’ll share our favorites!
Here are simple steps you can take to promote your educational efforts on social media this September:
- Download the social-media images linked below to use on your company’s social-media pages.
- Complete the checklist in the Education Checklist section below to determine which educational efforts you’ve completed and would like to highlight on social media.
- Draft your post copy, using the Social-Media Post Ideas section below as inspiration, and outline any other education-related content you would like to create for September (e.g., reels, stories).
- Pre-schedule your PSEM posts on Facebook and Instagram if possible, and don’t forget to tag PSI (@petsittersinternational) and use hashtags #psimember and #petsittereducationmonth.
Follow PSI on Facebook and Instagram, and feel free to share any of our PSEM posts in September.
Click the button below to download a zip file with social-media images you can share in September.
Please note: For most of the images we have versions with different pet types and options with language geared toward individual pet sitters and toward businesses with staff (me/my vs. us/our). Feel free to share the images that make the most sense for your business!
Here are a few sample posts that you can draw from to draft your social-media post copy (but be sure to replace the bracketed portions with your own information):
