Professional pet-sitting industry celebrates 7th annual Pet-Sitter Education Month™
Observance creator Pet Sitters International is highlighting the educational resources available to today’s professional pet sitters and dog walkers.
KING, N.C. (September 1, 2022) — Continuing education is in the spotlight this month as the professional pet-sitting industry celebrates its seventh annual Pet-Sitter Education Month™. Pet Sitters International (PSI) created this annual observance in 2016 to highlight professional pet sitters’ commitment to continuing education and the growing number of educational resources available to today’s professional pet sitters and dog walkers.
PSI, the world’s leading educational association for professional pet sitters, is celebrating with monthlong discounts on educational products and a special focus on how professional pet sitters can pursue ongoing pet-care and business training to meet the needs of pet parents.
“Education is the focus for our organization and our members year-round,” said PSI President Beth Stultz-Hairston, “but we always take this time each year to highlight the resources available to professional pet sitters—and to remind pet parents that they should select qualified, professional pet sitters for their pet-care needs.”
Professional pet sitters and dog walkers have access to more resources than ever before, from online courses and PSI’s CPPS-Certified Professional Pet Sitter© Exam to on-demand webinars and learning subscriptions.
“More than three decades ago when I started pet sitting, there were no pet-sitting specific resources available to me,” PSI Founder & CEO Patti J. Moran explained. “That’s why it has always been so important to me that PSI provides members with easy-to-access educational tools to boost their businesses and the services they provide to clients.”
To assist professional pet sitters in taking advantage of educational opportunities in the industry, PSI’s Pet-Sitter Education Month section on petsit.com includes links to pet-sitter resources and special discounts for the month of September.
PSI encourages pet parents to inquire about pet sitters’ training and credentials prior to booking services and provides a free Pet-Sitter Interview Checklist.
